Are you interested in learning more about the history of Sapelo Island and the Reynolds Mansion? Sign up for Docent Training on November 8, 2017 on Sapelo Island.
Buddy Sullivan, renowned historian and former Director of the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve (SINERR) will share stories of his experience on the island as well as history of the Mansion and the occupants that called it “home”. The afternoon session will focus on the architecture of the house and participants will have a chance to visit each room and learn more about the how the house changed over the years.
Throughout the month of December, FOS Docents share what they learned with visitors on annual holiday tours.
If you are not sure you are comfortable standing in front of a group of people, come to the training and then sign up to be a room shepherd. Room shepherds help the docents keep the tours together as they move through the house.
Space is limited on the ferry so sign up is required. Contact Linda Daniels at firstname.lastname@example.org to save your space or for more information.
Docent Training is open to FOS members only.
