Are you interested in learning more about the history of Sapelo Island and the Reynolds Mansion? If the answer is yes then join fellow Friends of Sapelo members for Docent Training on November 10, 2015 on Sapelo Island. The Friends of Sapelo Docents, lead by member Jeanne Leonard will have the opportunity to listen to Buddy Sullivan, renowned historian share the history of the island and learn more about founding fathers, Thomas Spalding, Howard Coffin and JR Reynolds and the impact they had on the island and the Georgia coast.
All FOS members are encouraged to attend. At the end of the day you find that you would enjoy sharing what you learn you can sign up to become a Reynolds Mansion docent.
Each year, throughout the month of December, Friends of Sapelo docents lead visitors through the decorated Reynolds Mansion sharing history and local folklore. Space is limited on the ferry so sign up is required. To register , contact Jeanne Leonard at jleon@darientel.net or call (912) 832-2578.
