Public Crab & Shrimp Day!

Help us celebrate 50 years of Education! This fun event gives participants the opportunity to visit Sapelo Island to learn about the life histories of Georgia’s blue crab and shrimp, as well as the local crab and shrimp industries that are a notable part of the coastal economy. Participants will enjoy a beach walk and be given the opportunity to pull seine nets on the beach to capture these two species (and other fish and invertebrates) first-hand. The program will end with a beach picnic lunch!

The ferry will depart the mainland at 8:30 a.m. and return to the mainland at 3 p.m.

Reservations are required; space is limited! Tickets cost $40/person (includes round-trip ferry pass and lunch).
