SUMMARY:Bat Box Workshop
DESCRIPTION:🔨Join us March 27th at the Sapelo Island Visitor Center from 4-5pm for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn about the incredible bat species that call coastal Georgia home\, why they are vital to our ecosystems\, and how they save us money by naturally controlling insect populations. We’ll also talk about why providing safe roosting habitat (like bat boxes) makes a real difference for their survival. \nParticipants will help construct a multi-chamber bat roosts which will be placed around Darien\, including at the Sapelo Visitor Center\, and each attendee will take home their own bat box ready to install in their yard!\n \nNo prior building experience is needed — just a willingness to learn\, build\, and support local wildlife! \nWe’re bat-solutely excited to hang out with you! \nRecommended donation to participate is $25/person to help cover some of our materials\, but we are excited to have you join us either way! Please bring either cash or check with you the day of to donate. \nPlease contact Brittany Dodge at Brittany.dodge@dnr.ga.gov should you have any questions or issues.
