We are very excited to welcome our new Assistant Education Coordinator, Reagan Heitschmidt! We am very excited to fill this position, which works under the Education Coordinator to provide Education and Outreach opportunities for K-12 school groups, public tours and groups, and Teacher Trainings.
She is from Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University studying wildlife ecology and management. A fun fact about her is that she also loves lizards and she broke her arm in third grade chasing one over a fence. She previously worked at the Kreher Nature Preserve in Auburn and Oak Mountain State Park in Birmingham. She is familiar with outdoor education and animal care and is excited to work in our Education Lab on the island!
