Hiring: Assistant Education Coordinator

We are hiring a full-time permanent Assistant Education Coordinator (paygrade Curator/Preservationist 1 or 2) to support our Education program.

Job Description:
Conducts outreach, environmental education programming for K-16 audiences, on Sapelo and on the mainland, and social media. Assists with or conducts professional development opportunities for teachers. Conducts group tours and educational programs on Sapelo for organized groups and the public. Collaborates with the Education. Coordinator to develop new curriculum. Records data and assists in the maintenance of education program databases. Prepares and presents lectures and interpretive talks to groups and public audiences on the mainland. Manages reservations and ferry requests for school classes and group tours visiting the Reserve. Collaborates as appropriate with the Research, Stewardship, Coastal Training and Visitors Center programs, works with Sapelo DNR staff as needed to accomplish common goals. Collaborates with the Education Coordinator to develop new interpretive signs, displays and exhibits and to maintain existing ones. Assists in the care of live aquariums and animal enclosures, vehicles and helps maintain facilities, exhibits and artifacts.
